Cops and criminals don't talk like the rest of us. Police officers use slang, code numbers, and other copspeak to communicate. The terminology is constantly changing and what may be used in an East Coast inner city may not be appropriate in the Deep South. If you want to be realistic in your dialogue, I can help.
Dialogue should be true to your characters rather than to a set of grammar rules.
